Lexi Bella is a fine artist living and creating in New York City's Lower East Side. She has been painting and creating art for over 25 years and completed her MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia in 2006. She began to expand her practice of painting in studio to also painting live in bars and clubs during her time at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Bella moved to New York in 2006 and soon after began showing in group shows with the Younity collective and began participating in Art Battles, which helped her hone her live painting skills, and introduced her to a like minded group of emerging artists. Earlier this year she won her first art battle at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and continues to help Art Battles to push the boundries and concepts of contemporary art, while also pushing her personal vision.
Lexi Bella works in paint, collage, and installation. Jumping into her world is like jumping into a vat of raspberry lipgloss. Through her paintings, collages, and installations she explores the modern day love/hate relationship with beauty and pop culture, models and monsters, sex, desire, disgust, and the body.
